Aula S87 ARGB Hot Swappable Wireless White Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
AULA S87 is a tri-mode wireless mechanical gaming keyboard with an 84-key 80% layout, gasket mount, and hot-swappable PCB. It features Wind Spirit linear switches, per-key dynamic RGB backlighting, and an 8000mAh rechargeable battery. Because it includes an LCD display and multifunction knob, you can control volume, lighting, and connection modes directly on the keyboard. This White colorway suits clean, light-themed desks. Available at Alfrensia for 2,549 EGP.
⚡ Engineering Highlights at a Glance:
- Tri-Mode Connectivity: Connect via USB-C wired, 2.4GHz wireless, or Bluetooth 5.0. The mode switch and LCD screen make it easy to toggle between devices [citation:2][citation:3].
- Gasket Mount with 5-Layer Dampening: PORON cotton, IXPE switch pad, PET gasket, and other layers absorb vibration for a softer, quieter typing feel [citation:3].
- 100% Hot-Swap PCB: Compatible with both 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style switches, so you can change the feel without soldering [citation:2][citation:3].
- Wind Spirit Linear Switches: Smooth, consistent keystrokes preferred for gaming and fast typing [citation:3].
- LCD Display & Knob: The 1.14-inch screen shows connection status, battery level, and lighting modes. The knob controls volume, brightness, and menu navigation [citation:2].
- 8000mAh Battery: Large capacity for extended wireless use with RGB lighting [citation:2][citation:3].
- Per-Key RGB: 16 million colors with 19 preset effects, including music rhythm synchronization [citation:2].
80% Layout with LCD Control Center
The S87 uses an 84-key 80% layout that removes the numeric keypad but keeps the arrow keys and function row. Because the layout is compact, it frees up desk space for mouse movement while still providing the keys most users need daily [citation:1][citation:3]. The integrated LCD screen and metal knob act as a control center. You can rotate the knob to adjust system volume, switch between lighting effects, or navigate the on-screen menu. The screen displays the active connection mode, battery level, and current settings, so you do not need to open software for basic adjustments [citation:2].
Gasket Mount and Hot-Swap Customization
The keyboard uses a gasket-mounted structure, where silicone gaskets suspend the plate and PCB inside the case. Because the plate is not screwed directly to the case, the typing feel is softer and the sound is more controlled than a stiff tray-mount keyboard [citation:2][citation:6]. Five layers of internal foam dampen resonance and reduce hollow noise. The PCB supports full hot-swap, compatible with both 3-pin and 5-pin switches. This lets you replace the stock Wind Spirit linear switches with tactile or clicky switches without soldering, so you can tune the keyboard to your preference [citation:2][citation:3].
Tri-Mode Connectivity and Battery Life
The S87 supports three connection modes. For gaming, use the 2.4GHz wireless mode with the included receiver for low-latency input. For multi-device work, pair up to three devices via Bluetooth and switch between them with Fn + 1/2/3 [citation:2]. The wired USB-C mode lets you charge the keyboard while using it. The 8000mAh battery is significantly larger than most wireless keyboards, providing extended runtime even with RGB lighting enabled [citation:2][citation:3]. The LCD screen shows battery level, so you can plan charging before the battery runs out.
Who is the AULA S87 For?
Expert Advice & Build Considerations
LCD Display and Knob Functionality
The LCD screen and knob handle many adjustments without software. Use the knob to change volume, brightness, and lighting effects. The screen also displays battery status and active connection mode. To switch between volume and lighting modes, press the knob or scroll through the on-screen menu [citation:2].
Charging and Battery Care
Charge the keyboard using the included USB-C cable. The 8000mAh battery provides extended runtime, but battery life drops with RGB brightness. To extend battery life, lower the RGB brightness or turn off lighting when running wirelessly. The LCD screen shows battery level, so you can monitor charge status [citation:2].
📐 Driver and Software
Basic functions work as plug-and-play without drivers. For macro programming and advanced RGB customization, the AULA driver is available for download. The driver is Windows-only; on Mac and Linux, the keyboard works for typing and basic media controls, but macro programming is not available [citation:3].

Expert Recommendation: Getting the Most from Your AULA S87
Charge the S87 fully before first use. For gaming, switch to 2.4GHz mode using the included receiver for the lowest latency. For multi-device work, pair up to three devices via Bluetooth and switch between them with Fn + 1/2/3 [citation:2]. Use the LCD screen and knob to adjust volume, lighting, and connection settings without opening software. If you want to customize the feel, the hot-swap PCB accepts both 3-pin and 5-pin switches, so you can try different switch types without soldering [citation:2][citation:3]. The gasket mount and five-layer dampening provide a soft, quiet typing experience that suits both gaming and office use. Clean the keycaps periodically with compressed air to prevent dust from affecting switch performance. For macro programming and advanced RGB customization, download the AULA driver from the official website [citation:3].
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the AULA S87 require software to work?
No. The S87 is plug-and-play for typing and basic controls. The LCD screen and knob let you adjust volume, lighting, and connection modes without software. However, for macro programming and advanced RGB customization, you need the AULA driver, which is available for Windows systems [citation:3].
What type of switches does this keyboard use?
The S87 ships with Wind Spirit linear switches. Because the PCB is hot-swappable, you can replace them with compatible 3-pin or 5-pin switches without soldering [citation:3].
How do I switch between Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, and wired modes?
Use the mode switch on the keyboard to toggle between 2.4GHz, Bluetooth, and wired modes. The LCD screen displays the active connection mode. For Bluetooth, pair via Fn + 1/2/3 to switch between up to three devices [citation:2].
How long does the 8000mAh battery last?
The 8000mAh battery provides extended runtime for wireless use. Actual battery life depends on RGB brightness and connection mode. The LCD screen shows battery level so you can monitor charge status [citation:2].
Is the AULA S87 compatible with Mac?
Yes. The S87 works with Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android for typing and basic controls. The macro software is Windows-only, so advanced customization is not available on Mac [citation:3].
