The Thermal Grizzly WireView GPU (1x12VHPWR to 3x8Pin Normal) is a device for measuring the power consumption of graphics cards, developed in collaboration with Jon “elmor” Sandström. Furthermore, it plugs into the GPU’s power connector and connects to the PSU via three 8-pin PCIe cables, displaying power data on an OLED screen while also organizing cable management.

Power Monitoring & Optimized Cable Management

The WireView GPU enables real-time measurement and logging of your graphics card’s power consumption, which is invaluable for determining power costs or comparing GPU efficiency. Specifically, its “U” shape design optimizes cable routing by allowing PCIe power cables to be laid neatly over the GPU’s backplate, simplifying cable management. Additionally, the device can display current power, voltage, amperage, min/max power, and average power over 60 seconds.

This particular “Normal” orientation model means the retaining clips of the GPU’s power connector point away from its PCB. It connects to the graphics card via a 12VHPWR connector and to the power supply via three separate 8-pin PCIe connectors. Important: Use separate 8-pin PCIe cables from the PSU; do not use splitter (Y-cables). The 12VHPWR configuration corresponds to 600W.
