Thermal Grizzly Duronaut Pro 6g Thermal Paste
Thermal Grizzly Duronaut Pro is a high-end thermal paste designed for extreme long-term stability and excellent thermal conductivity. Because it uses a specially developed silicone oil with aluminum micropowder and zinc oxide nanopowder, it resists the pump-out effect that degrades lesser pastes over time. The name “Duronaut” comes from “durability,” which reflects its focus on longevity. It is electrically non-conductive, does not harden, and ships in a 6g syringe with an applicator, TG Spatula, and TG Spatula Pro. Available at Alfrensia for 1,499 EGP.
⚡ Engineering Highlights at a Glance:
- Extreme Long-Term Stability: The name Duronaut comes from “durability.” The paste resists degradation and maintains performance over many thermal cycles, which matters most on GPUs where pump-out is common.
- Excellent Thermal Conductivity: The combination of aluminum micropowder and zinc oxide nanopowder of various shapes provides efficient heat transfer between the CPU or GPU and the cooler.
- Minimized Pump-Out Effect: Optimized particle shapes and sizes reduce the paste’s tendency to be squeezed out from between the die and cooler as temperatures rise and fall.
- Electrically Non-Conductive: Because the paste does not conduct electricity, it is safe to use near exposed contacts and SMD components without risk of short circuits.
- Does Not Harden Over Time: Unlike some pastes that dry out and become brittle, Duronaut Pro remains pliable, which preserves contact pressure and thermal transfer.
- 6g Multi-Use Size: Enough paste for several CPU or GPU installations, making it a good balance between the 2g and 30g sizes.
- Includes TG Spatula Pro: The revised spatula design allows more pressure during spreading, which helps achieve a thinner, more even layer.
Extreme Durability and Performance for Your PC
Duronaut Pro is a high-end thermal paste whose development focused not only on optimized thermal conductivity, but also on particularly high long-term stability. The optimized particle shapes and sizes enable Duronaut Pro to be applied in very thin layers, enhancing adhesion and minimizing thermal resistance. This thin application layer, coupled with the high conductivity of the aluminum micro and zinc oxide nanoparticle mix, ensures efficient heat transfer between the heat source (such as a CPU or GPU) and the cooler.
Why Pump-Out Matters and How Duronaut Pro Addresses It
Pump-out is a common failure mode for thermal paste, especially on graphics cards. When the paste heats up, it expands, and when it cools, it contracts. Because the cooler is screwed down tightly, the paste cannot expand upward, so it gets pushed sideways out of the contact area. Over many thermal cycles, less and less paste remains between the die and the cooler, which raises temperatures and can lead to throttling. Duronaut Pro is engineered to resist this effect. The optimized particle shapes and sizes give the paste higher internal cohesion and better adhesion to surfaces. As a result, it stays in place through repeated temperature swings far better than many standard pastes.

Available Sizes and Scope of Delivery
Duronaut Pro is available in three sizes: 2g, 6g, and 30g. This listing is the 6g size, which is a good balance between the single-use 2g syringe and the large-format 30g container. It provides enough paste for several CPU or GPU installations, which suits users who build or upgrade systems occasionally. The scope of delivery includes one 6g Duronaut Pro syringe, one applicator, one TG Spatula, and one TG Spatula Pro. The TG Spatula Pro has a revised design that allows for increased pressure during application, which helps you spread the paste thinly and evenly. Because Duronaut Pro has a slightly thicker consistency than some pastes, the Spatula Pro is a practical inclusion.
Application Guide: How to Apply Duronaut Pro
Proper application is just as important as paste quality. Before you start, power off your PC and unplug it. Remove the old cooler and clean both the CPU heat spreader and the cooler base with isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher) and a lint-free cloth. Let the surfaces dry completely before applying new paste. For standard desktop CPUs, apply a pea-sized dot (roughly 4–5mm in diameter) in the center of the integrated heat spreader. When you mount the cooler and tighten it down, the pressure spreads the paste outward evenly. Because Duronaut Pro has a slightly thicker consistency than some pastes, the included TG Spatula Pro is useful if you prefer to spread the paste manually. The revised spatula design lets you apply more pressure, which helps you achieve a thinner layer. A thin, even layer minimizes thermal resistance. Tighten the cooler screws in a diagonal pattern, one turn at a time, to ensure even pressure.

Expert Advice and Safety Notes
Handling and Storage
Store the syringe at room temperature and keep the cap on when not in use. Because Duronaut Pro has a thicker consistency, you may find it easier to work with if you let the syringe sit in a warm room for a few minutes before application. Do not heat the syringe directly or expose it to open flame. Keep the paste away from children and pets, and avoid contact with eyes or skin. If you get paste on your skin, wash with soap and water.
Do Not Apply Too Much
Using too much paste can be counterproductive. A thick layer acts as an insulator instead of a conductor, and excess paste can spill onto the motherboard. A pea-sized dot is sufficient for standard desktop CPUs. Because the mounting pressure spreads the paste, you do not need to cover the entire heat spreader manually.
⚠️ Disclaimer
Thermal paste application involves handling delicate electronic components. If you are not comfortable disassembling your PC or GPU, have a qualified technician perform the service. Alfrensia is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation or handling. Always follow the instructions provided by your cooler or GPU manufacturer, as some manufacturers void warranties if the cooler is removed.

Expert Recommendation: When to Choose Duronaut Pro 6g
Duronaut Pro is a strong choice when long-term stability matters most. If you are building or upgrading systems occasionally, the 6g syringe offers the best balance between price and quantity. It contains enough paste for several CPU or GPU installations, which makes it more economical than the 2g size but less expensive than the 30g size. Because the paste resists pump-out, it is especially well suited for graphics cards, where temperatures and pressures fluctuate the most. For CPU-only builds with standard cooling, Duronaut Pro also performs well, but its main advantage is durability rather than an initial temperature drop that is noticeably different from other high-end pastes. If you are applying paste for the first time, take your time with the spreader and use a pea-sized amount; the included TG Spatula Pro makes it easier to achieve a thin, even layer. For best results, clean both surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and tighten the cooler in a diagonal pattern.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Duronaut Pro different from standard Duronaut?
Duronaut Pro is a high-end variant that focused development on both improved thermal conductivity compared to Duronaut and particularly high long-term stability. It uses a specially developed silicone oil with aluminum micropowder and zinc oxide nanopowder to resist pump-out and maintain performance over time.
Is Duronaut Pro electrically conductive?
No. Duronaut Pro is electrically non-conductive, so it is safe to use near exposed contacts and small surface-mount components without risking a short circuit.
How much thermal paste should I apply?
For standard desktop CPUs, apply a pea-sized dot (about 4–5mm in diameter) in the center of the heat spreader. The mounting pressure will spread it evenly. Using too much paste can reduce performance because a thick layer acts as an insulator.
What is pump-out, and why does it matter?
Pump-out happens when thermal paste expands as it heats up and gets pushed sideways out of the contact area. Over time, this leaves less paste between the CPU or GPU and the cooler, which raises temperatures. Duronaut Pro is engineered to resist this effect, which makes it more durable than many standard pastes.
Does the 6g syringe come with application tools?
Yes. The 6g syringe includes one applicator, one TG Spatula, and one TG Spatula Pro. The Spatula Pro has a revised design that allows you to apply more pressure while spreading, which helps you achieve a thinner, more even layer.
