Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut Pro 6g Thermal Paste
Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut Pro is a silicone-free thermal paste designed for high-performance systems with large-surface heatsinks, such as custom water cooling loops, and for industrial applications. Because it delivers outstanding thermal conductivity and stays pliable over time, it works well for overclocking and long-term deployments. In addition, it is electrically non-conductive and RoHS compliant. This is the 6g size, and it ships with an applicator, TG Spatula, and TG Spatula Pro. Available at Alfrensia for 1,350 EGP.
⚡ Engineering Highlights at a Glance:
- Silicone-Free Formulation: The paste uses a silicone-free carrier structure, which makes it suitable for industrial applications where silicone oils can damage seals.
- Outstanding Thermal Conductivity: The optimized formulation transfers heat efficiently, especially with large-surface heatsinks such as water cooling blocks.
- Electrically Non-Conductive: Because the paste does not conduct electricity, it is safe to use near exposed contacts and small SMD components without risk of short circuits.
- Does Not Harden Over Time: The paste remains pliable, which preserves contact pressure and thermal transfer over many thermal cycles.
- RoHS Compliant: Meets the Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive, which matters for industrial and OEM deployments.
- 6g Syringe: Enough paste for multiple CPU or GPU installations, with headroom for future repasting.
- Includes TG Spatula Pro: The revised spatula design allows more pressure during spreading, which helps achieve a thinner, more even layer.
Silicone-Free for Industrial and PC Systems
Hydronaut Pro uses a silicone-free carrier structure. Many thermal pastes rely on silicone-based oils such as siloxanes as a carrier fluid, and under thermal stress those oils can migrate out of the paste. In normal PC use, this is generally not a problem. However, in industrial applications, leaking silicone-based oil can be undesirable, especially if adjacent materials or sealing materials such as certain EPDM or NBR seals are incompatible with silicone oils. In those cases, the oil can cause swelling or changes in material properties. Because Hydronaut Pro contains no silicone, it avoids this risk and is suitable for use in sealed industrial systems where silicone contamination must be avoided.
Designed for Large-Surface Heatsinks and Water Cooling
Hydronaut Pro is particularly well suited for applications with large-surface heatsinks, such as gaming PCs with custom water cooling loops. Because the paste spreads thinly and evenly, it fills the microscopic gaps between the CPU heat spreader and the water block cold plate. This ensures efficient heat transfer across the entire contact area. In addition, the formulation is designed for overclocking, so it performs well under high thermal loads where temperatures and pressures are highest.
Long-Term Stability and Electrical Safety
Hydronaut Pro does not harden over time. Because the paste remains pliable, it continues to fill microscopic gaps between the die and the cooler even after many thermal cycles. This preserves thermal performance and reduces the need for repasting. In addition, the paste is electrically non-conductive, so it is safe to use near exposed contacts and small surface-mount components without risking a short circuit. This makes it a practical choice for experienced builders and first-time users alike.

Available Sizes and Scope of Delivery
Hydronaut Pro is available in three sizes: 2g, 6g, and 30g. This listing is the 6g size, which provides enough paste for several CPU or GPU installations. The scope of delivery includes one 6g Hydronaut Pro syringe, one applicator, one TG Spatula, and one TG Spatula Pro. The TG Spatula Pro has a revised design that allows for increased pressure during application, which helps you spread the paste thinly and evenly. Because Hydronaut Pro can be applied in a very thin layer, a small amount of paste goes a long way, and the 6g syringe will last through multiple builds.

Application Guide: How to Apply Hydronaut Pro
Proper application is just as important as paste quality. Before you start, power off your PC and unplug it. Remove the old cooler and clean both the CPU heat spreader and the cooler base with isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher) and a lint-free cloth. Let the surfaces dry completely before applying new paste.
For standard desktop CPUs, apply a pea-sized dot in the center of the integrated heat spreader. When you mount the cooler and tighten it down, the pressure spreads the paste outward evenly. If you prefer to spread the paste manually, use the included TG Spatula Pro. The revised spatula design allows more pressure, which helps you achieve a thinner layer. A thin, even layer minimizes thermal resistance and improves heat transfer. Tighten the cooler screws in a diagonal pattern, one turn at a time, to ensure even pressure across the die.

Expert Advice and Safety Notes
Handling and Storage
Store the syringe at room temperature and keep the cap on when not in use. Do not heat the syringe directly or expose it to open flame. Keep the paste away from children and pets, and avoid contact with eyes or skin. If you get paste on your skin, wash with soap and water.
Do Not Apply Too Much
Using too much paste can be counterproductive. A thick layer acts as an insulator instead of a conductor, and excess paste can spill onto the motherboard. A pea-sized dot is sufficient for standard desktop CPUs. Because mounting pressure spreads the paste, you do not need to cover the entire heat spreader manually.
⚠️ Disclaimer
Thermal paste application involves handling delicate electronic components. If you are not comfortable disassembling your PC or GPU, have a qualified technician perform the service. Alfrensia is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation or handling. Always follow the instructions provided by your cooler or GPU manufacturer, as some manufacturers void warranties if the cooler is removed.

Expert Recommendation: When to Choose Hydronaut Pro
Hydronaut Pro is a strong choice when you need a silicone-free thermal paste with high thermal conductivity. If you are running a custom water cooling loop, the paste is designed to spread thinly across large-surface water blocks and deliver consistent performance under sustained loads. If you work in an industrial environment, the silicone-free formulation prevents oil migration that could damage seals or sensitive materials. The paste is also well suited for overclocking builds, since it maintains its properties under high thermal stress. Because it is electrically non-conductive, it is safe to use near exposed contacts. For best results, clean both surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol, apply a pea-sized dot in the center of the heat spreader, and tighten the cooler screws in a diagonal pattern. The included TG Spatula Pro helps you achieve a thin, even layer.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Hydronaut Pro different from other thermal pastes?
Hydronaut Pro is silicone-free, which makes it suitable for industrial applications where silicone oils can damage seals. It also delivers outstanding thermal conductivity and is designed for high-performance PC systems with large-surface heatsinks, such as custom water cooling loops.
Is Hydronaut Pro electrically conductive?
No. Hydronaut Pro is electrically non-conductive, so it is safe to use near exposed contacts and small surface-mount components without risking a short circuit.
How much thermal paste should I apply?
For standard desktop CPUs, apply a pea-sized dot in the center of the heat spreader. The mounting pressure will spread it evenly. Using too much paste can reduce performance because a thick layer acts as an insulator.
What is pump-out, and does Hydronaut Pro resist it?
Pump-out happens when thermal paste expands as it heats up and gets pushed sideways out of the contact area. In industrial applications this can cause problems, especially when silicone oils are involved. Because Hydronaut Pro is silicone-free, it avoids oil migration issues and stays stable under thermal stress.
Does the 6g syringe come with application tools?
Yes. The 6g syringe includes one applicator, one TG Spatula, and one TG Spatula Pro. The Spatula Pro has a revised design that allows you to apply more pressure while spreading, which helps you achieve a thinner, more even layer.
