The Gigabyte B850M FORCE WIFI6E is a Micro ATX motherboard on the AMD Socket AM5 platform, built around the AMD B850 chipset with an 8+2+2 phase digital VRM design. It supports Ryzen 9000 / 8000 / 7000 series processors, up to 128 GB of DDR5 memory with AMD EXPO and XMP overclocking profiles, and carries a PCIe 5.0 x16 primary graphics slot on Ryzen 9000/7000 CPUs.

Three M.2 connectors (one PCIe 5.0 x4) and 4× SATA 6Gb/s handle storage, with RAID 0/1/5/10 for NVMe and RAID 0/1/10 for SATA. Networking is covered by Realtek 2.5GbE LAN plus MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. USB includes Type-C 3.2 Gen 1, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and USB 2.0 headers. Two DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 128 GB (64GB per DIMM) and memory speeds from DDR5 4400 up to DDR5 9600 (OC) across a wide range of AMD EXPO and XMP profiles. Non-ECC un-buffered DIMMs are supported in 1Rx8, 2Rx8 and 1Rx16 configurations, backed by Gigabyte’s memory support list.

Build Insight

Enable EXPO for Full Memory Speed

After installing DDR5 memory, enter the BIOS and enable the EXPO profile to run your kit at its rated speed (up to DDR5 9600 OC). Without EXPO enabled, memory defaults to JEDEC speeds (typically 4800 MT/s), leaving significant performance on the table. The B850M FORCE WIFI6E also supports Q-Flash Plus — if you need to update the BIOS before installing a CPU, insert a USB drive with the BIOS file and press the Q-Flash Plus button on the rear panel. No CPU, memory, or GPU required.
