Thermal Grizzly Duronaut 30g Thermal Paste

Thermal Grizzly Duronaut is a high-end thermal paste designed for extreme long-term stability and outstanding thermal conductivity. Because it uses a specially engineered silicone oil with aluminum microparticles and zinc oxide nanoparticles, it resists the pump-out effect that degrades lesser pastes over time. The name “Duronaut” comes from “durability,” which reflects its focus on longevity. It is electrically non-conductive, does not harden, and ships in a 30g syringe with the TG Spatula and TG Spatula Pro included. Available at Alfrensia for 2,399 EGP.

Duronaut Design and Engineering

Duronaut is a high-end thermal paste designed with a focus on outstanding thermal conductivity and exceptional long-term stability. The name derives from the English word “durability,” which emphasizes its extraordinary longevity. This stability is achieved through a specially engineered silicone oil combined with aluminum microparticles and zinc oxide nanoparticles of various shapes. Because these particle shapes and sizes are optimized, they minimize the pump-out effect, ensure excellent adhesion to surfaces, and result in extremely low thermal transfer resistance. The result is a paste that performs consistently not just on day one, but after months and years of thermal cycling.

Extreme Durability and Performance

The optimized particle shapes and sizes enable Duronaut to be applied in very thin layers, which enhances adhesion and minimizes thermal resistance. This thin application layer, coupled with the high conductivity of the aluminum micro and zinc oxide nanoparticle mix, ensures efficient heat transfer between the heat source (such as a CPU or GPU) and the cooler. Because the paste can be spread thinly without sacrificing coverage, the thermal interface between the die and the cooler is more direct, and heat moves away from the component more efficiently.

Long-Term Stability

Long-term stability is the defining feature of Duronaut. Thermal paste degrades over time because heat cycles cause it to expand and contract, which can push the paste out of the contact area between the die and the cooler. This is called the pump-out effect, and it is one of the main reasons temperatures rise after months of use. Because Duronaut is formulated with optimized particle shapes and a special silicone oil, it resists this migration and maintains its consistency and thermal transfer properties for much longer than standard pastes. This makes it particularly suitable for graphics cards, which see large, frequent temperature swings.

Outstanding Thermal Conductivity

Duronaut delivers outstanding thermal conductivity because of its particle composition. The paste mixes aluminum microparticles with zinc oxide nanoparticles of different shapes, which creates a dense, interconnected thermal path between the component and the cooler. Because these particles are packed efficiently, the paste transfers heat with low resistance. This translates into lower CPU and GPU temperatures under load, which in turn allows the system to sustain higher clocks for longer before reaching thermal limits.

Electrically Non-Conductive

Duronaut is electrically non-conductive. Because the paste does not conduct electricity, you can use it safely near exposed contacts, small surface-mount components, and conductive traces without risking a short circuit. This makes it a practical choice for experienced builders and first-time users alike, because a small amount of excess paste that squeezes out from under the cooler will not damage the board. In contrast, some liquid metal compounds and silver-based pastes are conductive and require careful handling.

No Hardening Over Time

Many thermal pastes harden or dry out over time. When that happens, the paste loses its ability to fill microscopic gaps between the die and the cooler, and thermal performance drops. Duronaut does not harden. Because it stays soft and pliable, it continues to fill those gaps even after many thermal cycles. This means that when you remove the cooler later for an upgrade or maintenance, the paste should still be in usable condition, and the contact between surfaces should still be effective. This is another reason Duronaut is a good fit for long-life systems and GPU repasting.

Available Sizes and What Is Included

Duronaut is available in three sizes: 2g, 6g, and 30g. This listing is the 30g size, which is the largest and most economical per gram. It suits system builders, repair shops, and users who service multiple systems. The scope of delivery includes one 30g Duronaut syringe, one TG Spatula, and one TG Spatula Pro. The TG Spatula Pro has a revised design that allows for increased pressure during application, which helps you spread the paste thinly and evenly. Because Duronaut has a slightly thicker consistency than some pastes, the Spatula Pro is a practical inclusion.

Application Guide: How to Apply Duronaut

Proper application is just as important as paste quality. Before you start, power off your PC and unplug it. Remove the old cooler and clean both the CPU heat spreader and the cooler base with isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher) and a lint-free cloth. Let the surfaces dry completely before applying new paste.

For standard desktop CPUs, apply a pea-sized dot (roughly 4–5mm in diameter) in the center of the integrated heat spreader. When you mount the cooler and tighten it down, the pressure spreads the paste outward evenly. Because Duronaut has a thicker consistency than some pastes, the included TG Spatula Pro is useful if you prefer to spread the paste manually. The revised spatula design lets you apply more pressure, which helps you achieve a thinner layer. A thin, even layer minimizes thermal resistance. Tighten the cooler screws in a diagonal pattern, one turn at a time, to ensure even pressure.
